About the Project
CRGA designed a new Radiology Imaging Suite to consolidate multiple diagnostic services into a modern medical facility. The center features dual MRI suites (1.5T & 3.0T), CT scanning, C-arm X-ray, DEXA scanning, and a women's imaging center with ultrasound and mammography services.
The renovation of this 1960s-era building overcame significant engineering challenges, particularly in mounting two MRI units on an upper floor. CRGA's innovative structural solution involved transferring equipment loads directly to the building's concrete columns via specialized steel framing and incorporating an accessible raised platform design within tight height constraints.
The project demanded extensive infrastructure upgrades, including a modernized HVAC system and coordinated mechanical routing through occupied spaces. Our team developed specialized rigging strategies for equipment installation and pioneered new fire barrier solutions, featuring an innovative 3M film application for curtainwall compliance.
Despite asbestos abatement requirements and equipment delivery restrictions, proactive planning and streamlined processes ensured successful project delivery. The resulting facility enhances patient care through improved accessibility and optimized clinical workflows, delivering integrated medical imaging services in a single, convenient location.
